![]() The plaza is pretty far west on Pines Blvd, so it is calm and not heavily visited - great for a pleasant eating experience, though probably not so great for a restaurant's profits. While it was my first time at Il Toscano, I am very familiar with the location it used to be a French cafe/restaurant/bakery, and I had been there a few times. We have been wanting to try this place for a while and finally did. Picture of my traditional breakfast with scrambled eggs. I gave 4 stars because I went long periods of time needing a drink refill, got my grits before the rest of my meal, and the other small details mentioned above. I know they were busy, but they seemed adequately staffed, and flagging a server down when you needed something was not an easy task. We will definitely be back, although I think the servers need to pay a little more attention to the smaller details (like condiments/extra napkins/drink refills). ![]() ![]() I ordered the traditional breakfast and although my eggs were cooked a little more than I’d prefer, it was still delicious. I waited another 5+ mins for the rest of my food to arrive, at which point my grits were already getting cool. At this time they brought my side of grits and told me the rest of the food would be out shortly. My daughter’s french toast came first, but didn’t have butter on the side, and the server didn’t bring syrup. The waiter asked for patience, as the kitchen was slammed. We found 2 seats at the bar, and placed our order about 10 minutes later. We got there a little after 11:00, but due to it being Spring Break the restaurant was pretty packed. My daughter and I went for the first time today. We have already picked out what we will be ordering when we return late next month. Finally, the Manager stopped by to see if we liked our meal. Our waitress was very nice, brought out our drinks quickly, and even brought us the refills just b4 we had finished the furst drinks.good timing. Other than a special single origin coffee that was a good strong and rich cup, but was not at all bitter, we had fresh fruit that was also very good. I normally would not like that combo but it was very good and tasted fresh. We also had an Omelet filled with mushrooms, peppers and goat cheese topped with herbs. On the side, we had thick cut baked bacon with eggs.bacon that is baked has a good flavor surprisingly good texture. What made this so good was that the flavors were great, and yet the dish was not the typical "too sweet." Right balance of flavor and sweetness. Great French Toast that had a Lemon Ricotta cheese as layers bt each slice (6 half slices!) then covered with blueberries, dusted with sugar and with syrup. It is Latin music it is put at an enjoyable volume where you can talk and also want to bust a dance move at the same time :) overall very satisfied with my experience will definitely return. The day we went there was a live show which made it even more entertaining. The vibe inside the restaurant is very lively makes you want to dance and have a great time. Getting us drinks ,taking our order ,checking up on us and the food came out QUICK ! And at the same time our party of 11 had all of our plates in less than 15 minutes ! Very impressive. We arrived on time and were sat immediately our server was so kind ,patient and efficient. Thankfully the hostess was very kind and squeezed my party in and made a reservation for me for the next day Sunday at 6pm. They SAVED me, I went the day before on a Saturday night and it was PACKED hoping for a miracle. This place is great for groups ! I had made a reservation elsewhere but it got canceled and needed something last minute for 11 people. Staff was friendly and service was quick. We celebrated my brothers 21st birthday here with the family. Maybe we just went on an off day for them because I have read numerous good reviews. My husband ordered off the regular menu and he was also disappointed. The waitress was nice and she went to the manager when she was unsure about the syrup. The hash browns were mushy and over seasoned. I asked about the syrup that was brought out and was informed that it was not gluten free so she got me some individual Smuckers syrup that she said was gluten free. These were my first pancakes since my Celiac diagnosis so I guess my hopes were just too high because even when they brought some out that were cooked properly I was still disappointed in the taste. ![]() My pancakes came out in a carry out box which made confident that they were gluten free but they were not done inside so I had to send them back. I ordered the gluten free pancakes and a side of hash browns. I was so hopeful going in to try this place because of the good reviews but I was sadly disappointed. ![]()
