The transmission has never felt right since I took delivery in 98, but at the time I was ensured that it was normal. The vehicle also has delayed acceleration, lurching forward at a much faster rate than intended. For example, if I had to break suddenly if a child came out in front of the car, it could lurch forward a few seconds after I had stopped with disastrous results. The problem is that the transmission causes the car to lurch forward a few seconds after a hard stop. I've been told by the mercedes dealer that I cannot escalate the situation further. Macintosh is aware of the problem and its serious nature, but refuses to return my calls. For the past 3 months I've been trying to get the mercedes regional manager (macintosh) to address the problem, which has been present since the vehicle was new, but only became dangerous in the last several months. I have a 1998 mercedes C230 with a defective transmission. Thanks so much, darren weingarten - phone or email.Īll problems of the 2003 Mercedes Benz C230 I need somewhere, someone to go to, any information would be greatly appreciated. I have only 21,000 on the car, and drive my 2nd car more a 79 300sd mercedes as it is more reliable then this new car. It has been serviced 8 times, transmission work, 2 computers, camshaft, new radio, idle issues, brake system failed, and so on. This car has been nothing but nightmare to deal with since the day I purchased it. 2nd, am I paying a fair lease rate if the VIN# is for another body style. The coupe is more expensive on insurance - I have been overpaying since 2/2003. I have the original temp registration from the day I purchased the car new, and the dealer typed coupe not four door and on the lease agreement. I called beverly hills ltd where I purchased the car new. To make this short, after talking to my broker at Mercury, it turns out my 4 door has the VIN# of a 2 door coupe. The price was way different then what I was paying with Mercury. Once they put in the VIN# major issues came. 1) last week I decided to quote insurance and make a change to allstate. I have an issue that I was looking into addressing when another major issue just arrose that I need help from the manufacturer who I have contacted but not received a response. I am the owner of a c-230 4 door sedan VIN# wdbrf40j93f386357. Thank you.Īll problems of the 2005 Mercedes Benz C230 I purchased the car with 4,000 miles on it in 10/2005. I would also like for this car to be entered into the recall for the steering wire repair just as the e320. Please help in resolving some of the issues I have had with this 2005 C230 kompressor Mercedes Benz. They continue to put in codes so there will not be a recall and the consumer has to pay out of pocket. I was not happy with the service so I decided to try euromotors and the service was worse. My car was first serviced at herb gordon's auto group in silver spring, maryland. I do not want to pay for another vehicle. I have put $6,800 in repairs in this car. My car just sits because I feel I should not have to pay for any of this any more. I cannot unlock the doors with the remote key and I cannot unlock the trunk of the car. Now my car does not start and the instrument cluster does not light up. I have never had that fixed because they wanted to charge me and I felt they should replace the collar since they replaced the steering wire. Next, euromotor cars said the steering wheel collar was broke. There are no 'dealer only' electronics required (in case they tell you otherwise)First, my steering wheel wire was replaced from a faulty srs light coming on and the esp light coming on. I dont want to go into the menu on my car now in case I accidentally reset my counter. you may have to scroll up or down with the arrow keys until you find such a message. "press 'reset' to reset counter" or something like that. I dont remember the rest in detail but I remember it was very intuitive ie. Hold 'reset' button until screen changes (10 seconds or so)Ĥ. Scroll through in-dash menu via steering wheel keys until the screen tell you how much longer until the serviceģ. Anyway I did ask the tech did show me how to reset the light (since I'm never going back there again).Ģ. I went in at 17 000 kms to get service A done on my 05 C230 Coupe only to get the car back with the check engine light on!! I expected the life of an O2 sensor to be longer than 17k, but it was under warranty so I guess I cant complain too much. Great description! I should send that to my dealer, lol.
